About Damian Elwes

Santa Monica-based, British artist Damian Elwes began his career as a graffiti artist in New York City, before being convinced to turn to painting by revered pop artist Keith Haring. In the late 1980s, he became drawn to representations of the artist's studio. Elwes unravels the mysticism of the studio by revealing the fantastic, singular and often complicated realities of spaces which define, and in turn which are defined by, the artistic processes of their occupants. Elwes’ work has been exhibited extensively internationally and his paintings are in the public collections of institutions including The British Museum, London and The Marciano Foundation, Los Angeles.

Caring for your Print

Here are a few tips on how to best take care of your new print!

All our prints are carefully wrapped and delivered to you flat-packed for safe transport. Once you receive your print, remove the work from the flat-packing and keep flat. This can be flat packed between some cardboard or plywood, or weighted down on the four corners, preferably with soft objects.

When framing the work, we always opt for a frame with Art Glass. This may be a little more expensive at first, but it's worth it - Art Glass will keep your print in pristine condition across the years and will ensure the colours always stay true.

Try to place your work in an environment with a normal temperature. Extreme temperature or humidity can have an adverse effect on your beautiful print, so be sure to keep it protected! We always recommend framing the work behind glass as a great way to keep it protected from any adverse environmental conditions.
